A magnificent large original Shanks cast iron roll top bath, with tall Lions Paw Feet. Retrieved from a Scottish Castle and fitted with an oversized nickel overflow and waste, so will ideally be dressed with nickel tapware. The final photo shows a restored bath with similar feet.

Shanks & Co, founded in 1851 in Paisley, Scotland, was an iconic British sanitary ware company that produced antique cast iron baths and other sanitary items, achieving global success and fitting bathrooms on the RMS Titanic, Queen Mary, and Queen Elizabeth. The company was also known for producing innovative cast iron baths like the “Fin-de-Siècle” model around 1900. Antique Shanks baths are valued for their durability and timeless design.
